Technical Writer



Position: Technical Writer
Location: Santa Clara CA
Duration: 6-18 months
April 3 week start

USC or GCs are highly encouraged to apply

Job Description:
Author use cases, reference documentation, and white papers for a proxy server and tokenization solution.. Obtain in depth knowledge of software products by interviewing subject matter experts and research product features
. To ensure accuracy of documentation and improve product quality, perform QA and usability testing of software products and author bug reports.
. Work closely with QA, Engineering, and Product management to identify and document product features and user scenarios.
. To deliver IT documentation within aggressive timeliness, problem solve and troubleshoot complex IT problems and bugs.
. 3-5 years of experience writing and editing IT documentation
. BA or BS in English Studies or Technical Communication
. Proficient in Adobe FrameMaker and Adobe Acrobat for generating PDF documentation
. Proficient in Adobe RoboHelp for generating help systems
. Proficient in wiki authoring and editing
. Prior experience authoring IT documentation for Linux, Windows, and Solaris operating system
. Prior experience documenting REST APIs, XML-based technology, Web Security, SSL, and SOAP-based web services.
. Prior experience authoring IT documentation within the Agile SDLC
. Prior experience creating and using Virtual Machines to document complex software and systems.
. Familiar with basic networking concepts, which include HTTP and DNS.
. Familiar with how to use the bugzilla bug tracking system
. Familiar with how to use a version control systems, such as subversion
